Billing Methods by Move Type
We offer two billing methods based on your move type:
Local Moves (same state): Billed hourly - simple, transparent, pay for actual time used. Distance adjustment applies based on mileage.
Interstate Moves (crossing state lines): Combination billing - loading hours + transportation (per mile/per 100 lbs) + unloading hours + fuel surcharge. FMCSA compliant.
Part A: Local Move Rates (Hourly Billing)
For all moves within the same state, regardless of distance. Simple hourly billing from arrival to completion with distance adjustment.
Full Service Moving (Truck + Crew)

Part B: Interstate Move Rates
For moves crossing state lines (e.g., Ohio to Pennsylvania). Uses combination billing method compliant with FMCSA regulations. In-state moves of any distance use hourly billing (Part A).

Total = Loading Labor + Transportation + Unloading Labor + Fuel Surcharge + Fees

Transportation is charged based on distance and weight. The farther you go, the lower the per-mile rate.

How to Calculate Transportation Cost:
Formula: Rate × Miles × (Weight ÷ 100) = Transportation Cost
Example: Moving 5,000 lbs a distance of 200 miles
- Rate for 200 miles: $0.075 per mile per 100 lbs
- Weight units: 5,000 ÷ 100 = 50 units
- Calculation: $0.075 × 200 miles × 50 = $750

Guaranteed Not-to-Exceed Pricing
All interstate estimates are Binding Not-to-Exceed. Your final price will never exceed the quoted amount. If actual weight or labor hours are lower than estimated, you may pay less.
Note: Packing services are always billed on actual hours worked and materials used, and are not covered by the estimate guarantee.

Valuation (Liability) Coverage Options
You must select one of the following valuation options for your move:
Released Value Protection
Included (No Cost)Basic coverage at $0.60 per pound per article.
Example: 50-lb TV damaged = $30 maximum
Full Value Protection
1.0% of Declared ValueCarrier liable for replacement value of lost/damaged items.
Min declared value: $10,000 or $6/lb x weight
FVP - $500 Deductible
0.75% of Declared ValueFull Value Protection with $500 deductible per claim.
FVP - $1,000 Deductible
0.5% of Declared ValueFull Value Protection with $1,000 deductible per claim.
